Greetings from California
Hello, As you may or may not have noticed, I have been neglecting my blog...not because I haven't had a million adventures but rather because internet access has been limited. So after a disappointing trip to Bermuda (in both the fun and performance department), I headed on to Vegas for Interbike and the USA Crit Finals.....which was a parking lot crit to the extreme. The entire course was dictated by pylons or better known as "jersey barriers" and it was super sketchy. I lost focus and was at the back of the pack all day (I mean night because it was a night crit) which increased the "sketch factor" by a billion. Did everyone see the LIVE coverage on WCSN? you don't have an excuse if you didn't since it was televised worldwide....actually if you are watching just for me, don't waste your time. My only show time was when I led the pack around the course once on a sprint lap, and then subsequently got nipped at the line. My future teammate, Shelley, had a stellar performance though and she led the lap points competition, coming through at the front the most out of everyone - very impressive.
So Vegas was interesting and draining. I had fun at the trade show, but there is only so much walking and talking you can do.
From Vegas I flew onto CA where I met the women of PROMAN, went on a real group ride (which are harder out here than I expected), and have been applying for jobs for the upcoming year. I have left out many many details but again my brief time allowed for the internet is coming to an end. Bye for now.
